FAQs

My pet passed at home, what do I do?

Before you go ahead and decide to bury your pet in your backyard at home, please check your city ordinance for restrictions. Please let us know to provide you with useful burial tips.

We are available to help & we also recommend Pet Angel Cremation Services. If your pet passed at home and you don’t know what to do, they are able to come to your home to pick up your pet, usually within a few hours, and handle the cremation for you.

If you choose private cremation, they will also hand-deliver your pet once ready to come home.

Please note that Love & Dignity and Pet Angel Cremation Services does not have any other way to dispose of your pet in a humane and loving way after they have passed, other than Cremation, and will be charged accordingly.

For more information on Pet Angel Cremation Services, please visit their website or call 267-922-1337.

Is it the right time?
Pet parents almost always struggle to try to decide whether it is the right time to say their farewell to their beloved pet; we always want to hold on to them as long as we can. In most cases, though, it is not in your pet’s best interest to wait until the last minute to schedule an appointment. This may lead your pet into unnecessary discomfort/struggles and sometimes ending in an emergency. In addition, it may be difficult for us to be available for your pet on short notice.
Do you place a catheter?
No, As I am trying to avoid any medical feel at a clinic in my home visits, I think placing an IV Catheter is uncomfortable to the patient (just like it is to humans), and the patient must be restrained to ensure he/she are staying still for placement. Catheters are usually placed before any sedation, which means the pet can feel the discomfort of having a catheter placed. A sedative injection (like vaccinations) is preferred over placing an IV Catheter.
Does the doctor come alone?
Yes, to ensure privacy to families we help, the doctor arrives alone.
